VI Euro-Mediterranean Ministerial Conference (Naples, 2nd and 3rd December 2003)

In the Italian city of Naples, the Foreign Affairs Ministers approved the creation of a Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly and the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue of Cultures, with the aim of favouring better mutual knowledge amongst different cultures.  Moreover, it was decided, with the support of the European Investment Bank (EIB), to create a lending facility aimed at favouring the development of the private sector in Mediterranean countries.  The Ministers also dealt with issues regarding stability in the region, such as the Middle East Peace Process, the situation in Iraq, and terrorist attacks in Istanbul, Saudi Arabia, and Morocco.
